Skin and Hair solutions blog has been created by Dr. Divya Sharma MBBS (Gold Medalist), MD (Skin) Ex-Senior Registrar St. John's Medical College and Hospital Bangalore. Dr. Divya has a very strong interest in patient education and patient advocacy while combining the latest in skincare with social media and information technology to achieve this goal. 

Dr. Divya has created this blog to provide a useful resource to her patients and those interested in learning more about skin and haircare. 

About Dr. Divya Sharma:

Dr. Divya Sharma is a renowned Dermatologist and hair expert. She has great skill in dealing with all skin types. 


Dr. Divya is a post graduate of the Government medical college Shimla. She has worked as senior registrar at the prestigious St. John's medical college and hospital Bangalore. She has publications in national and international dermatology journals. 

She specializes in cosmetic dermatology, non surgical facial skin rejuvination,dermatologic lasers, hair disorders, pediatric dermatology, acne and acne scars and dermatosurgery. 

Dr Divya practices at whitefield, brookefield and Indiranagar locations in Bangalore.

  3. Hi Dr Divya, i just wanted know is the pressed powder and compact powder are bad for skin as my skin is little oily...pls suggest.

      You can choose mineral based powder and compact instead of a liquid based make up. That should be helpful in case of oily skin.

      Glad to hear that you are doing well. You can sprinkle Clotrimazole dusting powder available with various brand names and avoid keeping the area wet and damp.

  11. Hi Dr Divya, this is soumya pattnaik, I am a regular follower of your blog due to busy schedule could able to visit you but I really thank full to you. I visited your clinic 6 months back as suggested I used all product for my skin and it is really working fine. As you suggested the body lotion from cetaphil, if you can help me to find out good moisturizer for my face it will great.

    1. Thanks Shruthi for your kind words.It is not possible to treat any pigmentation empirically as diagnosis is a must. In general, one should avoid vigorous scrubbing especially in the back area. Glycolic acid based cream can be applied at night times. Darkening of lips can be due to many reasons which should be looked into before any cosmetic treatment.

  20. Hello Dr.Divya, i am so glad to follow you in this blog, i tried to book appointment in St. John's hospital but found that you resigned. So can you please share how to contact you. My cousin is facing problem with a different type of pimples on her full face in the size of pen tip, and they will be around 200 on her face, so badly looking for a solution for it.
